Event Description:
Panhandle Pride, Inc., is the primary organization working to promote a thriving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning/queer (LGBTQ) community in the Texas Panhandle. We do this through enhancing individual self-worth and cultural pride, with the vision that all persons are equally accepted and respected. Incorporated May 15, 2015 Celebrating our community since 2012 For the past few years, Panhandle Pride has held community events on the 4th Sunday of June. These celebrations have grown from an attendance of around 100 people in 2012 to more than 3000 in 2015. We hold these in late June to coincide with the anniversary of the turning point in the modern gay civil rights movement in the United States – the Stonewall uprising which began on June 28, 1969 in NYC. This year, we will organize many events in and around the city of Amarillo, and would love to have you join us! The Festival is completely FREE to the public, vendor space (while limited) is available for a nominal $10 registration fee, and anyone interested in becoming a Panhandle Pride Sponsor should contact sponsors@panhandle-pride.org More details can be found at http://www.panhandle-pride.org/
Directions:
We'll be hosting our annual Panhandle Pride Festival at Memorial Park, on Washington and 28th.
