KVII/KVIH-TV has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Producer. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day content on our digital platforms including our social media and website. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Assistant News Director, and Assignment Desk. In this position you will determine the content and its visual display, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories. You will also help the Assignment Desk making phone calls during breaking news situations, listening to scanners, and confirming stories as leads come into the newsroom.
Duties:Skills: Solid news judgment Be a compelling and accurate writer Be able to multitask and manage time in order to keep our website up to date with compelling and fresh content Must be able to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment Proficient at using social media and computers Strong leadership skills Excellent communication skills The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily online content Flexibility and on-the-spot problems solving abilities are a must Experience: The preferred candidate would have at least one year of previous experience writing in AP style on a digital platform Journalism degree preferred
